Local Businesses Go
Green
One of the most effective methods
we have of promoting green consciousness and a reduction in greenhouse
gas emissions among local businesses and other relevant entities (e.g.
service and community groups) is to recognize and patronize those that
are making the effort to 'go green.' Many already are taking such
steps. To facilitate this process, the Southeast Missouri Climate
Protection Initiative launched this 'Local Businesses Go Green' program
as a way of providing recognition for such businesses, and providing
consumers and members of the public interested in patronizing such
businesses, a simple one-stop vehicle for locating those who are making
such efforts.
We invite any local business owners/managers or
service/community group coordinators to contact us if they are
undertaking efforts to green their business or organization. We
are not planning to certify or 'police' the claims that folks make on
this page, merely allow anyone who wishes to self-report their efforts.
