Course Redesign In Fall 2010 Southeast launched its Course Redesign (CR) Initiative. The CR process, which follows the National Center for Academic Transformation (NCAT) model of Course Redesign, focuses on increasing active learning and student learning outcomes with the help of current and new technologies. Course Redesign is in its second year as an AQIP Action Project at Southeast with fifteen courses currently undergoing the Course Redesign process. Announcement (February 27, 2012): AQIP CR DEADLINE EXTENDED to 3-28-2012 AQIP Course Redesign Cohort 4: CALL FOR PROPOSALS: COURSE REDESIGN PROJECTS. SPRING 2012. The AQIP Course Redesign Action Project team invites full time faculty members to propose courses that they believe would be improved by going through the process of Course Redesign (CR). CR applies to all sections of a course and proposals must have the approval of both the Department Chair and the Dean. For courses taught by multiple faculty members, at least two of these instructors must submit the proposal. There is no upper or lower limit on course size or level.

Deadline: March 21, 2012 EXTENDED DEADLINE: March 28, 2012 Announcement Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Program (SoTL): The SoTL program is searching for faculty to work on implementing and evaluating teaching innovations in one of their courses. People interested in Course Redesign may participate in both the SoTL program and the AQIP project (separate applications). All full time faculty are eligible. Deadline: April 2, 2012 9 a.m. Announcement FFR (February 8, 2012): FFR Funds University Initiative on Course Redesign Deadline March 7, 2012 PASSED The Office of the Provost has established an FFR University Initiative on Course Redesign. The grant provides funding for faculty to attend workshops and conferences related specifically to Course Redesign. Funds may also cover on campus professional development activities such as subscribing to webinars or sponsoring a Course Redesign event. Faculty applying to receive assistance in either going to a conference or meeting, or participating in activities delivered to our campus from an external site, must provide a one-page application that will be reviewed by the Course Redesign committee, which will advise the provost on the suitability of the activity. The provost will make the final decision on awarding funds. The application will contain a brief statement of the activity, where it will be and who will be involved. The faculty member will indicate his or her personal goals for the activity. If the faculty member must travel, budget items can include transportation, lodging, meals and registration or similar fees. Campus Conference on Course Redesign: February 2011 The campus conference on re-imagining undergraduate higher education and course redesign was a successful beginning for the Course Redesign Initiative. Over 220 faculty, staff, administrators and students were in attendance for the key note address by George Mehaffy. Materials and links from the presentations are below.
