Course Redesign

Southeast has launched a Course Redesign Initiative.  This process, which follows the National Center for Academic Transformation model of Course Redesign, focuses on increasing active learning and student learning outcomes with the help of current and new technologies.  Course Redesign is the newest AQIP Action Project at Southeast with five courses currently undergoing the Course Redesign process.

Announcement (February 8, 2011):

FFR Funds University Initiative on Course Redesign

The Office of the Provost has established an FFR University Initiative on Course Redesign.  The grant provides funding for faculty to attend workshops and conferences related specifically to Course Redesign.  Funds may also cover on campus professional development activities such as subscribing to webinars or sponsoring a Course Redesign event.  Faculty applying to receive assistance in either going to a conference or meeting, or participating in activities delivered to our campus from an external site, must provide a one-page application that will be reviewed by the Course Redesign committee, which will advise the provost on the suitability of the activity.  The provost will make the final decision on awarding funds.  The application will contain a brief statement of the activity, where it will be and who will be involved.  The faculty member will indicate his or her personal goals for the activity.  If the faculty member must travel, budget items can include transportation, lodging, meals and registration or similar fees. If the activity is to be delivered to our campus, cost of the activity can be funded.  Proposals can be submitted to the AQIP Action Project team on Course Redesign by sending as an attachment via e-mail to CR@cstl.semo.edu.
