Writing Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)is the topic of this week’s Friday Faculty Development Mini-Workshop.

As you know, this spring we will be writing SLOs for all courses. Next fall SLOs will be included in all syllabi or equivalent materials handed out to students. SLOs will be assessed and reported in all courses taught next fall.

This Friday, March 23, at noon in Crisp Hall Room 125, CSTL will be hosting a workshop on writing SLOs. In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to write an SLO and will create written SLOs for a course you teach. You are encouraged to bring a copy of a course syllabus or similar material for a course you are teaching next fall. You will leave the workshop with potential SLOs to be included and assessed in your course. Lunch will be provided for those who pre-register by signing up through the CSTL workshop web site http://cstl.semo.edu/cstl/workshops/all/index.asp?wstype=a or by calling CSTL at x-2298 by noon, Wednesday, March 21.

Statewide Initiative:  Now in its second year

• MA 134 and SN 100 were selected from Southeast to participate with other courses from Missouri's 13 State supported universities
