21st Century Learner

Welcome

Students entering college now have always known a world with computers and other technological conveniences.  They are accustomed to using cell phones, computers, and other modern technologies as an everyday part of life.  Thus, how they communicate, locate and gather information, and interact with others is influenced by these new technologies.  How they learn is likewise influenced by those same technologies.

On April 28 & 29, Southeast will host a campus conference on the 21st Century Learner.  Diana Oblinger, Vice President of Educause, will present a keynote address describing these learners.  The conference will focus on recognizing characteristics of these students with strategies to recognize and respond to the needs of the new generation of learners, as well as current learners in our technology-enabled world.

Come join us in learning about the 21st Century learner.  Hear from an outside speaker, local 4th and 11th grade students, as well as from Southeast students and faculty.  Join in the discussion.  Mark your calendars now!  Don't forget to attend.
