Many people just start developing content, using approaches akin to "Free Writing" used in some creative writing courses. The problem is that these approaches are usually inefficient. Structured approaches, such as storyboarding and outlining, can make the development process more efficient. Many Instructional Design experts prefer the "ADDIE" approach:

1. A nalysis
2. D esign
3. D evelopment
4. I mplementation
5. E valuation
